Inlay - Onlay is a fixed restoration used in extensive cavities of side teeth (premolar and molar teeth). They are alternatives to traditional restorations, such as composite ones. They allow precise reconstruction of anatomic shape (bumps, folds and contact points between teeth).
Inlays and onlays are prepared in the prosthetic office using the taken imprints. They are usually made of porcelain as it is very versatile, but they may also be made of gold alloys, composite materials or as a combination of, for instance, gold and ceramic.
Inlays and onlays have many advantages – they are durable, may endure as long as 30 years. Porcelain inlay is very aesthetic and abrasion resistant. The restored tooth looks very natural and may still perform its functions particularly due to its precisely rebuilt anatomic shape.

Porcelain veneers

A veneer is a thin porcelain leaf glued onto the outer surface of the tooth. The quality of the material allows obtaining a colour and transparency of a natural tooth. This technique is used for covering non-aesthetic lip surfaces of front teeth, corrects discolorations which are hard to remove by bleaching, extends pathologically ground teeth, masks cracks and cavities in teeth, closes too big spaces (diastemas) between teeth, corrects the shape and restores tooth pieces that have been broken off. Porcelain veneer largely saves healthy tissues of the tooth that undergoes slight preparation performed only on the enamel (about 0.8mm layer). Making veneers is a very precise work that brings beautiful and durable effects.

The veneer will not change its colour, will not darken or discolour. With veneers on all front teeth we get the "Hollywood smile" effect that closely imitates natural teeth with perfect shape and colour, even if the natural teeth were repositioned, bent or retracted.
