Implant is a screw-shaped titan component replacing the tooth root on which the missing tooth or entire group of teeth (on bridges) is rebuilt. Implants eliminate dentures attached to gums, which cause discomfort, pain, bone atrophy. Implant fillings ensure normal biting. When a single tooth is missing, one implant and a crown placed on it eliminate the need to grind neighbouring, frequently completely healthy teeth

The first 4 titan implants were placed in 1965 by the father of modern implantology - a Swedish scientist Prof. Per-Ingvar Branemark. His implants last till today performing their task perfectly. So, provided all stages of the process are performed appropriately, the implants may last for life. Obviously, the patient must carefully care for hygiene of his/her mouth and undergo regular checks - at least once a year and the doctor must carefully plan and perform the entire treatment process.

INDIVIDUAL STEPS IN IMPLANTATION PROCESS

ZPlan the procedure (make panoramic photos)
Treat all teeth and remove tooth roots which cannot be used for prosthetic purposes
Place the implant
Time during which the implant grows into the bone is 2 to 6 months
OUncover the implant and perform the prosthetic part of the treatment - 3-4 weeks
